About us

Get a flavour of the Ashburnham Hotel from these photograps…

Built as an inn nearly two centuries ago, the hotel “was established for the purpose of providing comfortable and convivial accommodation for those having business in the area” with the then emerging iron and steel industry. However, evidence that Pembrey was once at the centre of a pioneering steel industry has lone gone. Amelia Earhart in 1928 became the first woman to fly the Atlantic Ocean. She landed in Burry Port harbour. We are proud of the fact that she spent her first night in Europe in the Ashburnham Hotel.

The hotel has also seen many changes over the years. In more recent times it has been extensively refurbished to provide a first class establishment where the comfort and personal service of our guests is paramount.  We are set in our own grounds and overlook the championship Ashburnham golf links while the newly designed Jack Nicklaus championship golf course is only a short distance away. The hotel is on the edge of the Millennium Coastal Park with its extensive paths, cycle tracks and views of the Gower Peninsula. A short stroll through the park will bring you to the picturesque harbour of Burry Port – a haven for small boats.

All our thirteen bedrooms ranging from standard rooms to our Superior room all have en suite facilities with baths and power showers, courtesy trays, colour television and direct dial telephones. Wireless internet connection for computers is also available.
